Residential driveways, patios, and commercial work in Camberley and the surrounding area.
About Camberley
Camberley and its surrounding areas give us one of the more varied workloads in our patch. On the residential side, the post-war and newer estates of Heatherside, Old Dean, and York Town are full of standard-sized drives that benefit from a modern finish, while the older detached properties in parts of Frimley and the larger plots at the edge of Lightwater suit a more substantial block-paving or resin specification. On the commercial side, the A30 and A331 corridors carry a concentration of trade parks, industrial units, and car showrooms that generate regular work for tarmac resurfacing, pothole repairs, and car park refurbishments.
The ground conditions in this part of Surrey are almost entirely defined by the heathland geology. Camberley and Frimley sit on the Surrey heath, where the soils are predominantly sandy, acidic, and free-draining. That is good news in one sense, as waterlogged sub-bases are unusual here, but it also means the sandy substrate has limited load-bearing capacity and will move if a base is not built with adequate depth and, on larger areas, a proper geotextile separation layer. We have re-done enough drives in Old Dean and Heatherside to know that a minimum-spec base laid on sandy heath soil eventually sinks.
We are on the road to Camberley from our Surrey base regularly, so response times for both quotes and reactive commercial callouts are reliable. For the A30 and A331 trade parks, we can often arrange an emergency pothole assessment the same week you call.
Areas we cover in Camberley
Virtually all of the ground under Camberley, Frimley, and Lightwater is Bagshot Sand, the light, free-draining heathland soil that also sits under most of Sandhurst and Fleet just over the Hampshire border. It drains quickly, which means puddles clear fast after rain, but it compresses under point loads and can migrate laterally under a base layer that is not properly separated from it.
The practical implication is that we specify a geotextile membrane on every drive we build here as standard, and we tend to go deeper with the Type 1 sub-base than we would on, say, a London clay plot. For commercial sites, particularly areas that take HGVs or skip lorries, we specify even more depth in the structural layers. Cutting corners on sub-base depth on Bagshot Sand is one of the most reliable ways to end up with a failing drive within five years.
The commercial strip along the A30 through Camberley, and the trade parks that have grown up around the A331, represent some of the busiest hard-surfaced areas in this part of Surrey. Car park surfaces on retail and trade sites here take heavy, repeated loading from vans and delivery vehicles, and the combination of heavy use and sandy substrate means surfaces deteriorate faster than many operators expect.
We handle everything on these sites from full car park resurfacing and line marking to reactive pothole patching and drainage channel clearance. For businesses that cannot afford significant downtime, we plan commercial jobs in phases or work outside trading hours. A cracked or potholed car park creates liability risks as well as a poor first impression, and a straightforward resurfacing job done to a proper spec will typically last fifteen years or more before it needs attention.
Surfacing in Camberley
It can if the base is not built correctly. Bagshot Sand, which underlies most of Camberley and Frimley, drains well but shifts under load if the sub-base is not separated from it with a geotextile membrane and built to adequate depth. We include both as standard on every drive we lay in this area and will walk you through the specification on the site visit.
Yes. We resurface, repair, and re-line car parks across the A30 and A331 trade corridor regularly. We can work outside trading hours to minimise disruption, and we handle everything from a full structural resurfacing to reactive pothole patching when a quick fix is all that is needed. Call us for an assessment and we will give you an honest view of what the site actually needs.
Yes. Frimley, Frimley Green, Lightwater, Deepcut, and the surrounding villages are all within our regular working area. If you are on the edge of the area or want to check before travelling to the site, call us and we will confirm.
For commercial reactive work on the A30 corridor we can usually get out for an assessment within a few working days, and often sooner if the issue is urgent. We carry out both temporary cold-lay repairs for situations that cannot wait and permanent hot-lay patching for a lasting result. We will be upfront about which option makes sense for the specific defect.
