Residential driveways, patios, and commercial work in Redhill and the surrounding area.
About Redhill
Redhill is a working town shaped as much by its road and rail connections as by its residential streets. The A23 runs through the middle of it, the A25 feeds east and west, and the town's industrial and trade estates attract a steady stream of HGVs and vans that do real damage to light commercial surfaces over time. We quote residential driveways and patios here every week, but Redhill is also one of the places where commercial and trade-park work makes up a meaningful part of what we do.
The town's housing stock spans a wide range: Victorian terraces around the station end, inter-war and post-war semis through Earlswood and Merstham, and newer estates that have extended the town southward towards Whitebushes. Earlswood in particular has some attractive detached properties where homeowners have invested in the front of the house, and that shows in the demand for block paving and resin rather than just tarmac.
Merstham, on the northern edge towards the M25, has its own character — village-scale streets sitting alongside the noise of the motorway corridor — and the older cottages there often have awkward narrow access or restricted frontages that need a bit more thought at the planning stage. We can usually find a solution, but we would rather know about a tight access before we show up with a machine rather than on the day.
Areas we cover in Redhill
The cluster of trade estates and commercial properties along the A23 and around Redhill aerodrome sees constant heavy-vehicle use. Forecourts, loading bays, and car parks on these sites take punishment that residential tarmac is not designed for — and when they start failing it is usually because the original surface specification was too light for the actual loading. We carry out full commercial resurfacing, patching programmes, and pothole repairs across the Redhill trade parks, and we can work around operational hours to minimise disruption to businesses.
For commercial clients, we also offer a simple inspection-and-log service: we photograph defects, record locations, and issue a brief written report after each visit. This is straightforward to set up and matters enormously if a pothole claim comes in, because a documented repair record is the single most useful thing a site manager can produce.
Earlswood sits a step above the town centre in every sense, with a mix of Victorian and Edwardian houses and quieter streets that attract owners who want the drive to match the house. We do a lot of block paving here — traditionalists' choice for period properties — as well as resin on the newer infill plots and any houses extended or modernised in recent years.
One thing worth knowing about parts of Redhill: the ground can be heavier and wetter than you would expect for Surrey, particularly on the lower-lying streets near the town's streams and drainage channels. It is not unusual to find a failing sub-base under a drive that looks superficially intact. We probe the base at the site visit and tell you honestly whether the existing foundations are worth keeping or whether they need replacing.
Surfacing in Redhill
Yes — commercial work is a significant part of what we do in Redhill. Car parks, trade-estate forecourts, loading areas, and private roads all fall within our scope. We can work outside normal business hours and provide written records of repairs for liability purposes. Call or email us with the site details and we will come out to survey.
It might be. Parts of Redhill and Earlswood sit on ground that holds water and shifts seasonally, which gradually undermines a thin sub-base. Surface cracking is often a symptom of base movement rather than a surface problem. We probe the sub-base at the site visit to check — if the foundations are sound, a reseal or a thin overlay may be all that is needed; if they are not, we will tell you.
Yes. Phased resurfacing is something we plan regularly for commercial clients. We agree a programme that keeps part of the car park accessible at all times, sequence the bays, and typically complete out of hours for the sections that cannot be closed during the day. We will produce a simple works programme at the quote stage so you know exactly what is happening and when.
We cover the full RH1 area including Merstham, Hooley, Salfords, and Whitebushes, as well as Redhill town centre and Earlswood. If you are on the fringes and unsure, call us and we will confirm — we are unlikely to say no.
